The preview pane in Google Drive on the web lets you see details about a file or document before you open it in a new window. The preview pane displays the following information:
- Owner of the item
- When and by whom the document was last modified
- The visibility setting and who's a collaborator of the item
- A description of the item
- What folders it's included in
To preview a file or document, check the box next to its title in Google Drive. Then, click the preview icon above your list of items.
To close the preview, click the X in the upper right of the pane or click the Eye icon again.
