Video content targeting

Add content targeting values to master video tag

Video features might not be enabled for your network. To learn more, contact your account manager.

In order to target ads to video content, your master video tag needs to include the following values. You can add these values anywhere in an existing tag. As with any other parameter, use ampersands ("&") to add these values to the tag. Learn more about ad tags.

cmsid The CMS source ID is a numeric identifier for the system that's hosting video content for your network. Google automatically assigns one ID per content source. The ID appears in DFP on the source details and mapping page. To view this page, select Sources on the Video tab, then select the source name. cmsid=[value]
vid The video content ID is a string identifying the video content that's currently being shown to the user. This ID is assigned by the CMS that hosts your content. In most cases, the video player will add this value to the ad tag dynamically, based on the editorial content. The ID appears in DFP on the content details page. To view this page, select Content on the Video tab, then select the content from the list. vid=[value]
