Indexing

New content

In order to include new pages or change the pages you've selected for on-demand indexing, you need to either upload a new Sitemap or update your existing Sitemap using Webmaster Tools. (You can request on-demand indexing once every 24 hours.)

Once you've modified the Sitemap or created a new one, request on-demand indexing as follows:

  1. On the Custom Search home page, click the search engine you want.
  2. Click Setup, and then click the Indexing tab.
  3. In the Index Now section, click URLs in a Sitemap.
  4. Type the path to a new Sitemap, or select an existing one.
  5. Click Index Now.

When you update your Sitemap to add new URLs for on-demand indexing, no pages will be dropped from your results if you have not exceeded your quota.

If you exceed your limit, we may remove some of your pages from on-demand indexing. We will always try to remove the least important pages, as determined by priority and last modified date in the Sitemap.

You can check your on-demand quota at any time by checking the Indexing tab of the control panel.

As long as the total number of new or newly updated pages you include in your Sitemap at any one time is less than your remaining quota listed here, no pages will be removed from your search engine.
