You have control over the way your windows and tabs are organized on the screen. Maximize a window to focus your attention on it, or rearrange your windows to be able to see all of them on the screen. You can even drag tabs out of their current windows to put them in their own windows, or move them into other windows. Last but not least, your Chrome device comes with helpful keyboard shortcuts to help you browse the web as efficiently as possible.
Opening windows and tabs
If you just signed in to your account, click the Chrome icon 
in the launcher at the bottom of your screen to open a new browser window. Subsequent clicks on the icon will open new tabs within the existing window. You can also click the 
icon at the top of the window to open a new tab.
Tips for managing windows
Switch between windows: If you have multiple windows open, press 
at the top of your keyboard to switch windows.
Resize or dock your windows: Control your windows using the window control button 
found on the top right corner of each open window.
- Click once to maximize the window. You can also drag it up to have the window fill up your screen. If you have a Chromebook and want to see just the contents of your window without browser controls, press
. - Click once and drag left or right to dock the window. Docking windows automatically resizes the window and places it to the left or right half of the screen.
- Click once and drag down to minimize the window. The window is now hidden but still easily accessible from the launcher.
.If you want to manually resize a window, place your pointer on the edge of the window and drag the border wider or narrower.
Tips for managing tabs
Reorder your tabs: You can easily reorder the tabs within the same browser window. Click a tab and drag it to different position along the top of the browser window. It's not possible to drag a tab from one window to another window.
Pin tabs: If you have a lot of tabs open, you can "pin" your tabs, so that they take up less space at the top of the window. Pinned tabs also stay to the left of your opened tabs, so you can easily keep track of them.
- To pin a tab, right-click the tab (or click the touchpad on a Chromebook with two fingers) and select Pin tab.
- To unpin a tab, simply right-click the tab again and select Unpin tab.
Move tabs into new windows: To move a tab into a new window, click and drag the tab down past the address bar. Similarly, to move the tab to a different window, click and drag the tab from its original window to the top of the destination window. The tab should pop in automatically.
