Love the mountains? More of a city person? Pick a background wallpaper and a browser theme that matches your personality and style. You'll see your background wallpaper as you browse the web and every time you're prompted to log into your account. You can choose a design on the Settings page.

Set background wallpaper

1. If you haven’t already, sign in to your Chrome device.
2. Click the status area in the lower-right corner, where your account picture appears.
3. Select Settings and find the “Appearance” section.
4. To change the background image, click Set wallpaper. Display one of our background images by selecting a category and choosing an image. If you want to display a custom image instead, select the Custom category and click Choose File. Select an image and click Open. Choose to center, center crop, or stretch the image. You can also select the Surprise Me box to be given a random wallpaper image. (Deselect the box to choose your own image.)
   
   Note: Due to security reasons, you may not be able select certain files.

You can also click the background with two fingers and select Set wallpaper from the menu that appears.

Set browser theme

1. If you haven’t already, sign in to your Chrome device.
2. Click the status area in the lower-right corner, where your account picture appears.
3. Select Settings and find the “Appearance” section.
4. To change the theme used for your browser’s frame, click Get themes. You’ll be taken to the Chrome Web Store, where you can find extra resources for the Chrome browser.
5. Once you find a theme that you’d like to try out, click Choose theme.
