Check the firmware version of your Chromecast device

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap and hold your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings  and then Device information.
  4. Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX." If the device is on Fuchsia, check for System firmware version: "X.XXXXXXXX.X.XXXXXXX".

Download the latest Chromecast with Google TV system update

Your device will usually download updates automatically. To manually download the latest update, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the home screen of your Chromecast with Google TV.
  2. Choose Settings and then System and then About and then System update.
