The Devices tab in the Admin console lists the Chrome devices in your domain and provides information such as serial number, status, latest activity, support end date, user name, and location. You can also use this page to create organizational units for your Chrome devices.

Sorting
On the Devices page, click the heading of a column to sort by different criteria.
Running basic searchesTo run a Chrome device search, enter your criteria in the search field near the top of the screen, and then click Search. To return to the list of all devices following your search, click Clear.
Enter each search term as a single word with no spaces, or enter a quoted list of words (for example, "east coast"). Searching for single words and quoted lists of words will run queries in all fields.
Searches are case insensitive, and punctuation is generally treated as white space within a search. For example, running a search for admin@yourdomain.com is the same as entering the words "admin yourdomain com".
Note: From the More Actions drop-down menu, you can also select Export MEID List to export a list of the Chrome device MEIDs that match the current search criteria. See Exporting the MEID list.
To search within a specific field only (for example, to search for a specific user), you can enter an operator followed by an argument -- for example, user:jsmith. You can use single words or quoted lists of words as an argument when running an operator query.
To run an operator query, follow these guidelines for each field:
Serial Number
Enter id: as the operator. For example, if you are searching for the serial number 12345abcdefg, enter the following:
id:12345abcdefg
Status
A shipped status means a Chrome device was shipped but is not yet enrolled. An active status means a Chrome device was enrolled. An inactive status means a Chrome device has never been enrolled.
| To search for: | Type the following: |
|---|---|
| Shipped devices | status:shipped |
| Active devices | status:active |
| Inactive devices | status:inactive |
User
Enter user: as the operator. For example, to match the name Joe, but not Joey, enter the following:
user:joe
To match the name Tom Sawyer or A. Tom Sawyer, but not Tom A. Sawyer, enter with quotation marks:
user:"tom sawyer"
Location
Enter location: as the operator. For example, to match Seattle, enter the following:
location:seattle
Notes
Enter note: as the operator. For example, to match loaned from John, enter the following with quotation marks:
note:"loaned from john"
Register
This field is not displayed on the Chrome OS settings page. However, you can search for devices that were registered on a given date, or within a given time range.
Enter register: as the operator, and enter a date and time (or time range) as the argument. For example, to search for all devices registered on March 23, 2013, enter the following:
register:2013-03-23
For additional examples using dates, times, and ranges, see "Format for date and time searches" below.
Last Sync
Enter sync: as the operator and a date or time range as the argument. For example, to search for all devices that were last synced with policy settings on October 12, 2013, enter the following:
sync:2013-10-12
For additional examples using dates, times, and ranges, see "Format for date and time searches" below.
To run a search in multiple fields, you can enter multiple operators. For example, the following search string will match all active devices belonging to John Doe in New York:
user:"john doe" location:"new york" status:active
Enter the date and time based on the local time of the user. The date and time are specified using the following format:
YYYY-MM-DD or YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss
The hour is in the range 0-23. Place the hour (or time) immediately after the date, with no space. For example, to run a search for 1:00 p.m. on October 12, 2013, enter the following:
2013-10-12T13:00:00
For ranges, enter two periods between the dates. To specify a range on or before a given date, enter two periods before the date. To specify a range on or after a given date, enter two periods after the date. See the examples below.

- Select Export MEID List from the More Actions drop-down menu.
