If you are unable to make a phone call in Gmail, it's possible that you are connected to chat through a browser that does not have the voice and video chat plug-in installed.
To check if you have the voice and video chat plug-in installed:
- Click the Settings link in Gmail.
- Navigate to the Chat tab.
If you have the plug-in installed, you will see the current version information in the Voice and video chat section.
Is the plug-in installed?
If the voice and video chat plug-in is correctly installed, it may be possible that the phone number you have entered is not formated correctly. Please try manually typing in the number you wish to call if you have copied and pasted it from elsewhere.
