You can use the USB cable that came with your tablet to connect it to a Windows computer, to transfer music, pictures, and other files between your tablet and the computer. This connection uses the MTP protocol, which is supported by most recent versions of Windows.
Depending on the version of Windows you are using and your model of tablet, you may need may need to obtain and install a Windows driver to work with your tablet on your computer. For more information, speak with your tablet’s vendor.

If you are using USB tethering, you must turn that off before you can use USB to transfer files between your tablet and computer. See Sharing your mobile data connection.
Connect your tablet to a computer via USB
- Use the USB cable that came with your tablet to connect the tablet to a USB port on your computer.
Your tablet’s USB storage or SD card is mounted as a drive on your computer. You can now copy files back and forth as you would using any other external device. For more information, see the documentation for your computer. - When you’re done, simply disconnect the tablet from your computer by unplugging the USB cable.
