If you as an administrator can't access the Google Admin console because you have forgotten your password, you can reset it. Please note, you must first have Added recovery options to your administrator account to use the phone and email methods.
For other issues, such as forgotten usernames, see Problems signing in to your account.
Here are the options available:
- Phone - Text message or call to your phone
- Email - Instructions sent to your recovery address
- Domain verification - via CNAME changes (most difficult)
Regardless of the option you choose, they begin with the same steps covered in the Start the reset section below. See our password selection tips for advice on choosing a strong password during reset.
Start the reset
To begin resetting the administrator password:
- Go to the sign in page for the Google Admin console.
The URL is https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/primary-domain-name, where primary-domain-name is the domain name you used to sign up for Google Apps. - Click Can't access your account? below the Sign in button.

- Select the radio button next to I don't know my password.
- Enter the email address for your Google Apps administrator account and click Continue.
- Enter the letters from the CAPTCHA into the text field and click Continue.
If the automated reset option is disabled for your account, you see a Help Center article rather than the CAPTCHA screen. You'll need to contact another administrator at your company and have that person reset your password using the Google Admin console. - Now choose between the reset options listed above and follow the corresponding section below.

- Click Continue with domain verification.
- Complete the steps described on the page that appears to create a CNAME record.

The link takes you to a page where you can select which administrator account to reset the password for and enter the new password.
If you don't find the message in the Inbox, check the Spam and Trash folders to ensure that your provider hasn't filtered the message.
