Until recently, resellers who sold Google Apps had only one billing option: to prepay for a year of service for each customer. As licenses are provisioned, they are added to the existing pre-paid year at a pro-rated amount. At the end of the year, each customer needs to commit to another year and pre-pay the service fee for the next year.
Now, Google is introducing monthly post-pay billing. At sign-up, resellers can choose if they want to sell a year-long commitment or a month-to-month plan. Either way, the reseller pays Google on the last day of each month via a check, wire transfer, or credit card for the service used in the preceding month.
The new billing options are now available to resellers. Please note that all customers will eventually move to the new monthly billing system, and the annual billing system will be deprecated.
If you'd like to learn how to switch from annual to monthly billing, please see Migrate to the new billing system.
For general information on the new monthly billing system, please see Introduction to the Post-pay Billing Model on Google Partner Connect. (If you experience errors accessing the introduction, it may be that you don't have access to Google Partner Connect yet. To ensure that you have access, follow the Get Secure Access to GPC instructions where you can get yourself and your team access).
