For help with Contacts, users should visit the Google Sync overview and select their device. Availability of features and help information varies by hardware and software. Android users can try the Google Apps Lookup application. Note many of these apps require an administrator to enable Google Sync (ActiveSync) for mobile devices.
Contacts: Best practices for users
The data fields in Contacts are flexible and can be used - and misused - in many ways. Encourage users to learn how to use the Contacts Manager by leveraging the resources above. We also recommend you ask users to:
- Periodically find and merge duplicate entries to free up space for more contacts
- Keep every contact in an individual record and leverage personal contact groups if often messaging the same set of people. Users can import contacts using a CSV when adding many records.
